Looking toward spring

Updated: Nov 12

It's November and those almost-winter blahs are hitting us like a blast of arctic wind. But toss the Prozac. The best prescription is the annual Hunters Point Parks Conservancy Bulbfest, which assures us that a crop of colorful tulips is around the corner.

More than 200 volunteers of all ages donned gloves, grabbed trowels and started digging.
Muscari is a type of hyacinth, often blue.
People welcomed hot coffee from Greats of Craft.
Some volunteers were newbies...
... who will be veteran gardeners by grade school.

Now, we fluff our down coats, turn our attention to football, mull cider, and dream of the vivid blooms that will greet us next spring.
